Tiger Woods silenced any doubts about his game with a solid performance in the first round of the 2024 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. The legendary golfer split the fairway with a 3-wood and placed his approach shot on the green at the par-4 fifth hole.
Woods, making his 26th appearance at Augusta, is known for his dominance at the course. He has won the Masters five times and has a remarkable record at the tournament. In 97 rounds at Augusta National, he has birdied the fifth hole 45 times.
Woods' strong start is a positive sign for his chances of contending for the title. He began the 1999 Masters with a birdie on the fifth hole but went on to shoot even-par 72. However, he eventually recovered to finish tied for 18th place.
Woods will tee off on day one of the Masters at 3:54 p.m. EST. He will play with Jason Day and Max Homa on Thursday and Friday.
